Celebrating the New Year in Vancouver with a Blast!
by Staff Writer

As the days count to the beginning of a New Year, Vancouverites are tidying their homes or dressing up to welcome a New Year.

Or if you want to party, there are plenty of things to see and do and if you please  –dance til the wee hours.   Over at The Waldorf  Hotel which is hosting an evening of masquerade and entertainment, for the price of $60, guests can snack on raw seafood and beef and await dessert at the chocolate fountain. The best-dressed win the grand prize of $500 –a good sum to start the New Year’s.

For the price of $45, you can head on town to the Vancouver Fan Club at 1050 Granville Street, which is providing  snacks and champagne and music featuring the  Powder Blues Band and the Mike Van Eyes Trio.

If you love music and if there are any tickets left, head to the Media Club, which for the price of $35, gets you a chance to dance to a variety of performers, ranging from Said the Whale, Hannah Georgas, Mother Mother, Dominique Fricot, the Belle Game, Tariq Hussain, in Medias Fres, Adaline, and beekeeper.

If you can party without booze, bring $65 and head on down to the Yaletown Roundhouse Galleria, which will feature electrofusion music.

Look forward to free ice skating at Robson Square downtown where you can take your kids and listen to live entertainment.

Parents, kids and singles might also want to take a scenic ride around Stanley Park in the popular miniature Christmas Train, featuring tons of lights, carols, cocoa and popcorn.

Over at the popular Whistler resort, you can celebrate with the kids during the resort’s First Night event. For about $20 each, (kids about $10), you will experience live entertainment, story-telling, street entertainment and fireworks at this no-alcohol event.

Wisertraveller.org wishes everyone a safe and happy Holiday Season and Blessings for the New Year!
